The faculty which is one of four faculties of the university has implemented high quality bachelor programs with respective tuition since 2013. The faculty has planned to start the doctoral program of World Economics and International Economic Relations in 2019. The faculty is expecting to get an approval to opening a new double degree program (majors: International Economic Relations and International Trade Law). Graduates of the new program will receive a degree of International Economic Relations and a degree of International Trade Law.
The faculty has proved to be an important university in the educational system of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and at the University of Economics and Law after 18 years. Besides the recognized human resource training, the faculty provides good research outputs in international economic relations and international business. Given the number of dedicated lecturers, the faculty aims to become one of the leading centers of training, research, and consulting in the fields of international economic relations and international business in Vietnam.
The faculty implemented an internal self-assessment at program level of International Economic Relations under Asian Universities Network (AUN) standards and obtained an impressive score of 4.2/7.0 in June 2012. This is the biggest achievement that a university of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has ever reached when joining the AUN self-assessment system. The faculty then had their program of International Economic Relations assessed under AUN standards with a good result in December 2014. In addition, the faculty actively develops programs under CDIO standards. This is a system of methods and accumulated knowledge and skills to teach students to meet demands from companies and society. This direction continues contributing to high teaching quality that the faculty has been focusing on since its establishment.
Given the continuous effort, the faculty has received many awards from the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Ministry of Education and Training, and Prime Minister. This motivates the faculty to accomplish the mission and vision in the future.
